Supabase does not provide refunds; the Terms of Service state fees are non-refundable. On downgrade, unused subscription time is returned as non-expiring organization credits (pre-tax) that only offset future invoices. If you upgraded the wrong organization by mistake, support can transfer the amount as credits to another organization.
Downgrading to Free is per organization and takes effect immediately, with unused time credited back. The Free plan allows two active projects (paused projects do not count) with 500 MB database, 50,000 monthly active users, 5 GB egress and 1 GB storage. Exceeding free limits can pause projects; the Billing FAQ describes grace periods and Fair Use restrictions.
Paid projects cannot be paused - Supabase states Pro projects cannot be paused and suggests transferring a project under 500 MB to a Free organization to pause it there. On Free, projects with low activity over 7 days pause automatically, and paused projects are not charged.
A Free project paused for inactivity can be restored for 1 year; after that it cannot be restored on the platform, but the final database backup and Storage objects stay downloadable before deletion. Deleting a project is immediate and permanent - data, backups, PITR snapshots, Storage files and Edge Functions are unrecoverable. The Terms publish no retention timeline after account termination.
