Privacy policy
A site about escaping subscriptions should not trap you in tracking. Short version: no account, no ad trackers, no analytics cookies, and payment details never touch our servers. Last updated 6 August 2026.
What we collect
Browsing this site requires no account and no personal details. Guides, categories and search all work without giving us anything.
We collect data in exactly three situations: when you send guide feedback or a contact message (we store what you typed, plus the service it concerns), when you buy a sponsor slot (Stripe processes your payment; we store your company details, contact email and the payment reference - never card numbers), and through privacy-conscious product analytics described below.
Analytics without tracking you
We use PostHog to count page views, searches and clicks on cancellation buttons, alternatives and sponsor cards - that is how we know which guides matter and what sponsors get for their money.
It is configured conservatively: session recording is disabled, automatic capture of everything you do is disabled, no analytics cookies are set (state lives only in page memory), no advertising identifiers are used, and events are proxied through our own domain so no third-party tracker sees your requests. Your IP address is not forwarded to the analytics service, so it cannot be used to profile or geolocate you.
What we keep and for how long
Feedback and contact messages are kept until they have been reviewed and acted on, then periodically cleaned up. Sponsor and payment records are kept as long as bookkeeping law requires. Analytics events are aggregated counts tied to anonymous identifiers that reset every visit.
Third parties
Stripe (payments, when you buy a sponsor slot - see stripe.com/privacy), PostHog (analytics, proxied and minimized as described above), and Google Fonts (typefaces are loaded from Google's CDN, which sees the font request). We sell no data, rent no lists, and run no advertising trackers.
Your rights and contact
If you are in the EU/EEA you have the usual GDPR rights: access, correction, deletion, restriction and objection. Since we hold almost nothing about visitors, requests are usually simple - write to us through the contact form and we will sort it out.
