How do I cancel Aiven?
Stop Aiven billing in the Aiven Console: open Services, then use Actions to Power off service or Delete service. Powering off stops new hourly charges immediately and takes a few minutes. Aiven does not publish a general refund for unused time.
Opens console.aiven.io. We are not affiliated with Aiven and never handle your login.
Managed open-source data platform for PostgreSQL, Kafka, OpenSearch, ClickHouse, MySQL and Valkey, billed hourly while services are powered on. This guide covers every place the subscription can live - the website and team plans - plus what happens to refunds, pausing and your data afterwards.
Step-by-step instructions
Aiven bills each running service hourly through a billing group, not a named seat subscription.
Open console.aiven.io with an account that can manage services in the project.
From the project, on the left-side menu, click Services.
For each paid service, click Actions, then Power off service. Powering off stops new hourly charges immediately. The minimum charge is one hour.
Open the service, then on the top-right corner click Actions, then Delete service, and confirm. Deletion is blocked while termination protection is on. Deletion is permanent.
Static IP addresses are not removed when a service is powered off or deleted and keep generating their usual costs.
Powered-off services are automatically deleted after 180 days, including backups. Static IPs keep billing until you remove them.
Delete all services in the project, then click Settings, then Delete and Confirm.
Delete all projects and organizational units. If you pay through a cloud marketplace, cancel that marketplace subscription first. Click Admin, then Organization, delete each unit, then click Delete and confirm.
Go to User information, then User profile, and click Delete account. This is irreversible and permanently removes your data.
Tick a step to keep your place - nothing is stored. Tap a step to tick it off - nothing is stored.

The pricing table lists seamless upgrade and downgrade between service plans. Moving to a smaller plan or powering off reduces future hourly charges. Free-tier services can remain after paid services are removed.
Powering off a service stops new charges immediately and keeps configuration (and backups when available) on the platform. Services powered off for more than 180 days are automatically deleted, including backups.
Service deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Unless you instruct otherwise, Aiven deletes customer data within 90 days of Agreement termination or after the service's maximum retention. Powered-off services older than 180 days are deleted with their backups.
