Refunds, downgrades, pausing and your data

Four questions people ask before they cancel
Can I get my money back?

A refund can be discussed for the latest monthly subscription charge only when there has been no usage in the current calendar month, no overages, and no contacts stored in Marketing Campaigns. Prior-month overages and contact-storage charges are not refundable.

Case by case
Is there a cheaper way to stay?

After a paid Email API package is cancelled or downgraded, it remains usable through the end of the month and then changes to End of Trial. Sending stops and some features become inaccessible; cancellation does not delete the account or its data.

Can I pause instead of cancel?

No separate subscription pause option is documented in the official billing or cancellation pages.

Not available
What happens to my account data?

Cancelling a paid subscription does not delete the SendGrid account or its data. Account and data deletion is a separate Support request after cancellation and permanently removes access to the account and its data.

Frequently asked questions

Answers checked with the steps above
When does SendGrid cancellation take effect?

The paid package stays available through the end of the current calendar month. On the first day of the next month it changes to End of Trial and can no longer send email.

Who can cancel a SendGrid subscription?

An Account Administrator or a teammate with Administrator privileges must cancel it from the SendGrid Console.

Can SendGrid Support cancel it for me?

No. Twilio says Support cannot cancel or downgrade on your behalf; if you cannot sign in, contact Support for access help.

Can I get a SendGrid refund?

Only the latest monthly subscription charge may qualify, and only with no current-month usage, no overages, and no Marketing Campaigns contacts stored.

Does cancellation delete my SendGrid data?

No. Subscription cancellation does not delete the account or its data. Request permanent account and data deletion from Support separately.

Is there a SendGrid subscription pause?

No separate pause option is documented in SendGrid's official billing or cancellation pages.
