Cloudways Cloudways Flexible plan From $11 / month every year
Cancel WP Engine from the Billing section of the User Portal: an account Owner selects Cancel plan or Request cancellation under Modify plan and submits the form. It takes about 5 minutes, requires at least 30 days notice unless the portal shows a shorter period, and access ends after the notice period. Fees are generally non-refundable, though unused annual prepaid fees are refunded prorated.

Tell us when WP Engine renews and download a calendar reminder that lands 32 days before, with this guide and the direct cancellation page inside. Nothing is stored - the file is yours.
WP Engine requires 30 days notice - your reminder will land 32 days before the renewal date you enter. The User Portal can show a shorter notice period for the account.
WP Engine's Terms say fees are not refundable except where expressly stated. A customer termination receives a prorated refund of unused fees paid annually in advance beyond the termination date, adjusted for voided discounts and amounts owed. The terms do not promise a prorated refund of monthly fees.
Some Essential accounts can self-serve a downgrade in the User Portal. Other Essential and all other plans must request a downgrade, contact the account manager, or use sales chat. Downgrades take effect on the next billing date and WP Engine asks for 30 days notice.
No plan pause is documented in the official pricing, plan-management, cancellation, or Terms pages reviewed on 2026-08-08. WP Engine documents downgrade and cancellation instead.
After the cancellation notice period, access is removed and WP Engine says all account content is deleted. Terminated customers lose User Portal and support access. WP Engine normally maintains 30 days of environment backups, so download backup ZIP files before cancellation rather than relying on post-cancellation recovery.
At least 30 days, unless the User Portal shows a shorter notice period for the account.

The Terms provide a prorated refund of unused annual prepaid fees beyond termination, adjusted for discounts and amounts owed.
No plan pause is documented in the official plan-management, cancellation, and Terms pages reviewed.
After the notice period, access is removed and content is deleted. Download local backups before the cancellation date.
