Step-by-step instructions

Self-serve is credit card, one-month terms. Enterprise is listed as annual on the pricing table.

1
Sign in to Prefect Cloud

Open your Prefect Cloud account. The self-serve rider applies to click-through self-serve web orders billed by credit card at the start of each monthly Term.

2
Cancel the Services before the Term ends

The rider: the Initial Term is one month and auto-renews unless Client cancels its Services or otherwise provides Prefect written notice of cancellation prior to the end of the then-current Term. Follow the subscription or billing prompts shown in the account. Prefect does not publish a Cancel button label.

The rider does not say whether access continues through the month already paid after you cancel. Main-terms fees are non-refundable except prepaid unused fees if Prefect terminates for infringement.

Refunds, downgrades, pausing and your data

Four questions people ask before they cancel
Can I get my money back?

The main terms: except as otherwise specified, all fees paid are in U.S. Dollars and are non-refundable. If Prefect terminates for an infringement claim and chooses that option, it provides a refund of prepaid unused fees for the Services. Termination does not affect amounts that accrued before termination.

Case by case
Is there a cheaper way to stay?

Hobby remains listed as Free forever with Hobby limits. No in-app downgrade button label is published. Stopping Starter or Team is cancelling the Services under the self-serve rider before the monthly Term ends.

Can I pause instead of cancel?

No subscription pause option is documented on the public pricing page, self-serve rider, or terms.

What happens to my account data?

On termination, all rights cease and Client shall immediately cease use and access of the Software Services. Prefect retains personal data as long as necessary for the privacy policy purposes, including legal obligations, disputes and enforcing agreements. While Starter is active, run retention is 7 days and Team is 14 days. The public terms do not publish a post-cancel customer-data deletion window.

Frequently asked questions

Answers checked with the steps above
How do I cancel Prefect Cloud?

For self-serve, cancel the Services in your Prefect Cloud account before the monthly Term ends, and follow the billing prompts shown there. Prefect does not publish a Cancel button label. Written notice before Term end is also allowed under the rider.

When does cancellation take effect?

The rider requires cancel or written notice before the end of the then-current monthly Term so it does not auto-renew. It does not say whether access continues through the month already paid. On the main one-year terms, access ceases on termination.

Does Prefect refund unused time?

Fees paid are non-refundable except a refund of prepaid unused fees if Prefect terminates for infringement and chooses that option.

Is Hobby a free plan after I cancel Starter?

Hobby is listed as Free forever. Moving there is not documented as an in-app downgrade button. Self-serve cancel is cancelling the Services before the Term ends.

Do Enterprise customers use the same path?

No. The main terms use a one-year term and at least 30 days' written notice of intent to terminate before renewal, unless an Order Form says otherwise.
