How do I cancel Paddle?

5% + 50¢ / sale Developer infrastructure Pay-as-you-go · billed via invoice
10 min Self-serve No fee To cancel
Short answer

Email Paddle Seller Support at [email protected] to end the supplier agreement, giving at least 30 days written notice. It takes about 10 minutes to send; Paddle then stops Services after the notice period. There is no monthly platform fee to refund, and Paddle may hold supplier fees for later chargebacks.

What you are cancelling

Merchant-of-record payments, tax and billing platform for software sellers. Paddle resells the seller's product and takes a per-transaction discount instead of a monthly seat fee. This guide covers every place the subscription can live - the website and team plans - plus what happens to refunds, pausing and your data afterwards.

Step-by-step instructions

Use the vendor email on the account so Seller Support can match the request.

1
Turn off optional Additional Services

Checkout Recovery and Retain can be activated from the Supplier Dashboard and have their own fees. Stop those add-ons if you no longer want them, then terminate the Agreement if you are leaving Paddle.

2
Plan for held payouts after termination

On termination Paddle may retain Supplier Fees it reasonably needs for outstanding liabilities, Chargebacks and refunds, including buyer subscriptions that run past the termination date. Held amounts are released on or before the later of six months from termination or the expiry of the last Product subscription.

Paddle requires 30 days notice - your reminder will land 32 days before the renewal date you enter. The Master Services Agreement lets either party terminate at any time by giving at least 30 days prior notice in writing. Paddle's pricing FAQ also says there are no lock-in periods.

Refunds, downgrades, pausing and your data

Four questions people ask before they cancel
Can I get my money back?

Pay-as-you-go has no monthly platform fee, so there is no unused-month SaaS refund. Paddle keeps the Paddle Discount on completed sales. After termination Paddle may hold Supplier Fees to cover Chargebacks and refunds, then release the remainder on or before the later of six months from termination or the last Product subscription expiry.

No refunds
Is there a cheaper way to stay?

There is no lower paid SaaS tier. Pay-as-you-go already has no monthly fee. Custom pricing and Additional Services are optional. After termination Paddle stops Services and disables access to related technology, including APIs.

Can I pause instead of cancel?

No seller-account pause is documented. After six consecutive months with no sales and an outstanding Supplier Fee, Paddle may charge a dormancy charge and/or deactivate the Supplier Account.

What happens to my account data?

Paddle's pricing FAQ says seller data is the seller's and can be migrated. On termination or expiration Paddle will within 30 days return or destroy manuals, documentation and Confidential Information in its possession, unless it must retain data for ongoing Buyer subscriptions or to comply with a legal obligation.

How much notice does Paddle need?

At least 30 days written notice. Email [email protected] and send the legal copy to [email protected].

Is there a monthly Paddle fee to cancel?

Not on pay-as-you-go. Pricing is 5% + 50¢ per Checkout transaction with no monthly fee. Invoicing and custom plans use different rates.
