Refunds, downgrades, pausing and your data

Four questions people ask before they cancel
Can I get my money back?

Vercel's Terms of Service make all fees non-refundable except where the agreement expressly says otherwise; the one stated exception is a pro-rated refund of unearned prepaid amounts if Vercel terminates a self-service account without cause. v0 publishes no separate refund policy.

No refunds
Is there a cheaper way to stay?

After cancelling, the account moves to the free plan at the end of the billing period: $5 of included monthly credits and a 7-messages-per-day limit. Unused monthly credits roll over and expire after 65 days; purchased credits stay in your balance but need an active paid plan to use and expire one year after purchase.

Free tier exists
Can I pause instead of cancel?

No pause option is documented - cancelling moves the account to the free plan at the end of the billing period.

Not available
What happens to my account data?

Deleting a v0 account or team is irreversible and the same email can only be reused after 7 days. Deleted chats stay in the archive for 30 days and can be restored before permanent deletion. Vercel's Terms add that all your content may be permanently deleted upon account termination.

Frequently asked questions

Answers checked with the steps above
Do I keep access after cancelling?

Yes. Cancel Plan moves your account to the free plan at the end of the current billing period, so paid access continues until then.

What happens to unused monthly credits?

They roll over to the next billing cycle and expire after 65 days.

What happens to credits I purchased separately?

Purchased credits remain in your balance when the subscription expires, but they require an active paid plan to use and expire one year after purchase.

Can I get a refund when I cancel?

Vercel's Terms make fees non-refundable except where expressly stated, so cancelling stops future charges rather than refunding past ones.

Is the v0 subscription sold through the App Store?

No. The iOS app only offers one-time credit-pack purchases; plans are managed on the web at v0.app/settings/billing.

I'm on the old $20 Premium plan - can I still cancel the same way?

Yes. Premium is being sunsetted and closed to new users, but the documented cancellation flow via Billing settings applies to active subscriptions.
