Step-by-step instructions

Bolt billing is web-only; there is no app-store subscription. This is bolt.new by StackBlitz - not the Bolt ride-hailing app.

1
Open your subscription settings

Log in at bolt.new, click your profile icon in the bottom-left of the sidebar, then click Subscription.

2
Open Billing details

On the Subscription page, click Billing details in the top-right corner.

3
Click Cancel subscription

A dialog asks "Are you sure you want to cancel?" - click Next.

4
Confirm in the StackBlitz billing portal

Select a reason in the "Why are you cancelling?" dialog, click Next, then in the "Before you go" dialog click Cancel subscription.

5
Keep access until the period ends

Your paid plan and unused tokens stay available until the billing cycle ends, then the plan downgrades to Free.

Refunds, downgrades, pausing and your data

Four questions people ask before they cancel
Can I get my money back?

Bolt subscriptions are non-refundable. The StackBlitz Terms of Service state that fees already processed or paid are not refunded or pro-rated if you cancel before the end of the month. For billing questions, contact [email protected] from the email on your account.

No refunds
Is there a cheaper way to stay?

Cancelling equals downgrading to the Free plan, effective when the next billing cycle begins. Your limit drops to 300K tokens per day (1M per month) and you lose access to remaining paid tokens, including rollover tokens. Rollover tokens stay valid for two months from the cycle in which you received them and come back if you resubscribe before they expire. Your projects remain on your account.

Free tier exists
Can I pause instead of cancel?

No pause option is documented - the help center only describes cancelling (the same as downgrading to Free) or changing plans.

Not available
What happens to my account data?

Cancelling only downgrades the plan - account and projects remain. Account deletion is separate: stackblitz.com → Settings → Profile → Account deletion, after cancelling active subscriptions. StackBlitz's privacy policy (which covers bolt.new) deletes or anonymizes personal information and user content within at most 30 days of account closure, with residual backup copies persisting for a limited period.

Frequently asked questions

Answers checked with the steps above
Do I keep access to my paid plan after cancelling?

Yes. If you cancel mid-period, the plan and unused tokens stay available until the period ends, then you drop to the Free plan.

What happens to my unused and rollover tokens?

You lose access to all allocated tokens when the billing cycle ends. Rollover tokens are valid for two months from the cycle you received them in, and you regain any unexpired ones if you resubscribe before they expire.

Can I get a refund on a Bolt subscription?

No. Subscriptions are non-refundable, and the StackBlitz Terms state fees already processed are not refunded or pro-rated.

Is cancelling the same as deleting my account?

No. Cancelling downgrades you to Free and your projects stay. Account deletion is a separate, irreversible action in StackBlitz settings, and you must cancel active subscriptions first.

What do I get on the Free plan afterwards?

300K tokens per day (up to 1M per month, resetting on the 1st), public and private projects, website hosting, unlimited databases, and Bolt branding on websites.

How do I cancel a Teams plan?

Bolt documents no separate Teams cancellation flow. Admins manage the subscription from the Subscription page; for full team cancellation, contact [email protected].
