How do I cancel Firebase?

Usage-based Databases & backends Blaze · billed via web
3 min Self-serve No fee To cancel
Short answer

Cancel paid Firebase billing from the Firebase console: open the project's usage and billing settings and switch the project from Blaze to the Spark plan. It takes about 3 minutes and the downgrade takes effect immediately. Firebase does not issue prorated refunds, and you remain responsible for charges through the rest of the month.

Step-by-step instructions

Follow the official web flow and check every billable resource before finishing.

1
Open the Firebase console

Sign in, select the project and open its usage and billing settings.

2
Switch the project to Spark

Choose the Spark plan to remove the project from the paid Blaze plan.

3
Confirm the downgrade

Review the listed effects and confirm the switch to Spark.

4
Check linked Google Cloud billing

If you want to close billing completely, unlink or close the linked Cloud Billing account after checking for other projects that use it.

Downgrading does not delete inaccessible Realtime Database instances or non-default Cloud Storage buckets. Deleting the whole project starts a 30-day deletion period across Firebase and Google Cloud.
