How do I cancel Auth0?

Short answer
Cancel Auth0 from Teams Dashboard, Settings, then Subscription: choose the Free plan and select Purchase And Start Plan. It takes about two minutes. Auth0 does not document whether paid access continues to the end of the period; unused time may qualify for a credit or refund if you email [email protected].

Step-by-step instructions
New self-service accounts since 1 November 2023 use Auth0 Teams. This is Auth0 (Customer Identity Cloud), not Okta Workforce.

Open Teams Dashboard Settings, then Subscription
Sign in as a Team Owner and go to Teams Dashboard > Settings > Subscription.

Choose the Free plan
Auth0 states that choosing the Free plan cancels your paid subscription. Select Free, then Upgrade or Downgrade.

Confirm with Purchase And Start Plan
On Review and Purchase Plan, complete any billing prompt and select Purchase And Start Plan. Auth0 does not publish whether paid features continue to the end of the current period.
Team Owners manage Team-based billing. Tenant administrators manage legacy tenant-based subscriptions.

Legacy tenant-based subscriptions
Go to Dashboard > Settings, open the Subscription tab, choose Free, then click Subscribe Now.

Enterprise plans
Self-serve cancel is not documented. When the Enterprise Subscription Period ends, Auth0 automatically downgrades the account to Free. Contact the account team or open an Auth0 Support ticket.

Delete the tenant after you cancel
Downgrade to Free first. Then Dashboard > Settings > Advanced, Danger Zone, Delete, then Yes, Delete Tenant. Main Enterprise tenants, or a main tenant with child tenants, need Auth0 Support or Community.

Refunds, downgrades, pausing and your data
Four questions people ask before they cancelCan I get my money back?
If you cancel, you may be eligible for a credit or refund. Tenants with no recorded login transactions may be eligible for unused subscription time within the last three months. Auth0 does not credit or refund a downgrade from one paid plan to another paid plan. Request a credit or refund from Okta Accounts Receivable at [email protected] as a Tenant Administrator.
Is there a cheaper way to stay?
You can move between Free, Essentials and Professional at any time from Teams Dashboard > Settings > Subscription. Choosing Free cancels the paid subscription. Auth0 does not publish whether paid features continue until the period ends. Enterprise accounts drop to Free when the Enterprise Subscription Period ends.
Can I pause instead of cancel?
No pause option is documented.
What happens to my account data?
Deleting a tenant is irreversible: it cannot be restored, the name cannot be reused, and tenant metrics are lost. Remove a custom domain first. Export tenant data through the Management API before deletion. To delete Auth0 account data such as email and billing information, delete the tenant and then post in Auth0 Community.

How do I cancel Auth0?

Can I get a refund?
Possibly. Email [email protected] as a Tenant Administrator. Unused time in the last three months may qualify when the tenant has no login transactions.
Does deleting my tenant cancel billing?
You must downgrade to Free before the Dashboard will let you delete a tenant. Deletion is a separate, irreversible step.
Who can change the plan?
Team Owners manage Team-based subscriptions. Legacy tenant-based billing is limited to tenant administrators.
What about an Enterprise contract?
Auth0 automatically downgrades Enterprise to Free when the Enterprise Subscription Period ends. Use your account team or Auth0 Support during that transition.
