The dedicated cancel article documents Cancel Auto-Renewal on credit-card subscriptions. The terms also mention cancelling upgrades in My Settings.

Refunds, downgrades, pausing and your data

Four questions people ask before they cancel
Can I get my money back?

New subscriptions and upgrades have a 14-day money-back guarantee. Contact support within 14 days of the payment. Only that latest eligible payment is refundable. Outside that window, prepaid fees are not refunded, except special cases or material-breach remedies at UptimeRobot's discretion.

Refund possible
Is there a cheaper way to stay?

Cancel Auto-Renewal takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle and moves the account to Free (50 monitors, 5-minute interval). A chosen downgrade is scheduled for renewal and can be cancelled before then from the ellipsis menu, then Billing, Plan & Subscription. If the monitor count is over the new plan's limit, all monitors are paused. SSL error checking and SSL or domain-expiry reminders are turned off and are not turned back on automatically after a later upgrade.

Free tier exists
Can I pause instead of cancel?

No subscription pause or billing-hold option is documented. Individual monitors can be paused. If a downgraded Free account still has more than 50 monitors, all monitors are paused until the count is reduced or the account is upgraded.

Not available
What happens to my account data?

Free retains monitoring data for 3 months, Solo for 12 months, and Team, Scale and Enterprise for 24 months, after which it is deleted. Deleting the account from Account Details requires a verification email. After confirmation, personal data is removed, the account is disabled, the subscription is cancelled and monitors are paused. The DPA says Customer Personal Data is deleted within 90 days of termination unless return is requested or law requires retention.

Frequently asked questions

Answers checked with the steps above
Who can cancel UptimeRobot?

The main account holder. Sub-users, including Admin-role sub-users, cannot edit billing.

When does cancellation take effect?

At the end of the current billing cycle. Cancel Auto-Renewal leaves the paid plan active until the expiration date, then the account moves to Free.

Can I get a refund?

Contact support within 14 days of payment for the money-back guarantee. Outside that window, prepaid time is not refunded.

Will I keep my account after I cancel?

Yes. Turning off auto-renewal does not delete the account. It moves to Free when the paid period ends.

What happens to my monitors on Free?

If you have more than 50 monitors, all of them are paused until you delete down to 50 or resubscribe. SSL and domain-expiry reminders stay off until you re-enable them one monitor at a time.

Does deleting the account cancel billing?

Yes. After the verification email, UptimeRobot says the subscription is cancelled, monitors are paused and personal data is removed.
