Short answer
Stop RunPod charges from the Billing page at console.runpod.io/user/billing: terminate Pods and endpoints, delete storage, and disable auto-pay. That takes about ten minutes; unused prepaid credits stay on the account and are not refunded. Savings plans are prepaid, non-refundable, and run to a fixed expiration date.

Step-by-step instructions
Runpod bills prepaid credits, not a monthly SaaS seat. Disabling auto-pay stops new card charges; leftover credits are not refunded.

Open the Billing page
Sign in and go to console.runpod.io/user/billing.

Terminate running resources
Stop and terminate Pods, Serverless endpoints and other compute. Terminating a Pod permanently deletes data not stored on a network volume.

Delete billable storage
Delete volume disks and network volumes. Stopped volume disks and network volumes keep accruing storage charges.

Disable auto-pay
On the Billing page, turn off auto-pay so Runpod stops charging the saved card when the balance is low. Remaining credits stay on the account.
If the balance reaches $0, Pods without a network volume are terminated and their data cannot be recovered.

Only Admin and Billing roles can manage payment methods and view billing.

Treat savings plans as prepaid to expiry
Savings plans are prepaid for 3 or 6 months, non-refundable, and expire on a fixed date. Monitor them in the Savings plans section of the console.

Email [email protected] for a Subscription or to close the account
To change or terminate a Subscription, the Terms of Service also allow you to email [email protected], or use the Change/Cancel Membership page in Account Settings. You may terminate the Terms by notifying Runpod and closing your Account. Business invoicing is available for transactions over $5,000.

Four questions people ask before they cancelCan I get my money back?
Runpod credits are non-refundable and cannot be withdrawn once deposited. Credits can only be used for Runpod services. Savings plans are non-refundable and have fixed expiration dates. The Terms of Service also state that except as set forth in the Terms, all Fees for the Service are non-refundable, and a cancelled Subscription is not eligible for a prorated refund of the then-current period.
Is there a cheaper way to stay?
On-demand has no subscription tier to downgrade. Stop and terminate resources and disable auto-pay to stop new charges. Savings plans are prepaid commitments and are not documented as cancellable mid-term.
Can I pause instead of cancel?
You can stop a Pod, but storage on stopped volume disks and network volumes continues to bill. There is no documented pause for a savings plan; it runs to its expiration date. Disabling auto-pay stops further card charges but does not refund unused credits.
What happens to my account data?
When the balance reaches $0, Pods with a network volume are stopped and their data is preserved; Pods without a network volume are terminated and their data cannot be recovered. If the balance stays at $0, a network volume may later be terminated. Runpod is not designed for long-term data storage. The Terms of Service say you may terminate by notifying Runpod and closing your Account.
