What you are cancelling

LifeLock identity-theft protection subscriptions (Core, Advanced, and Total) sold on lifelock.com, distinct from Norton 360 with LifeLock device-security bundles. This guide covers every place the subscription can live - the website, the iPhone and iPad app, and Google Play - plus what happens to refunds, pausing and your data afterwards.

Step-by-step instructions

Apple-billed in-app LifeLock or Credit Monitoring is managed by Apple.

1
Confirm Apple billing

If you subscribed to a standalone Credit Monitoring or LifeLock plan as an in-app purchase, cancel in the Apple App Store. Uninstalling the LifeLock Identity app does not cancel the subscription.

2
Open Apple Account subscriptions

In Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then the LifeLock subscription.

3
Cancel Subscription

Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm. Apple handles App Store refund requests.

Uninstalling the LifeLock Identity app does not cancel the subscription.

Refunds, downgrades, pausing and your data

Four questions people ask before they cancel
Can I get my money back?

Eligible annual plans have a 60-day money-back guarantee. Norton's cancellation and refund policy, which covers Norton and LifeLock enrollment, says annual subscriptions are eligible for a full refund within 60 days of purchase or annual renewal. An initial monthly purchase is eligible within 14 days, while later monthly renewals generally are not. App-store and reseller rules can differ.

Refund possible
Is there a cheaper way to stay?

LifeLock does not document a self-serve downgrade between Core, Advanced, and Total. Stopping renewal keeps the current plan through the paid term, then it ends. No free identity plan is documented.

Can I pause instead of cancel?

No pause option is documented on LifeLock, Norton cancellation, or LifeLock service terms. Turn off renewal and keep protection until the paid term ends, or request a refund inside an eligible window.

Not available
What happens to my account data?

Canceling renewal does not delete the account. Norton privacy notices covering Norton and LifeLock enrollment retain account data while active or 36 months. Submit a separate privacy request for deletion where available.

Frequently asked questions

Answers checked with the steps above
Is LifeLock the same as Norton 360 with LifeLock?

No. lifelock.com still sells Core, Advanced, and Total identity plans. Norton 360 with LifeLock Select Plus, Advantage, and Ultimate Plus are separate device-plus-identity bundles covered by the Norton 360 guide.

Does canceling LifeLock stop protection immediately?

No. Stopping renewal keeps the subscription active until the end of the paid term unless a refund ends it earlier.

Can I get a LifeLock refund?

Eligible annual plans have a 60-day refund window. An initial monthly purchase has 14 days. Later monthly renewals generally are not refundable.

Can I pause LifeLock?

No pause option is documented.

Does canceling delete my LifeLock account?

No. Account deletion or a privacy request is separate from turning off renewal.

Where do I cancel an in-app LifeLock plan?

Use Apple or Google Play subscription settings. Uninstalling the app does not cancel it. Employer plans are cancelled with the employer or partner.
