# How to cancel Vercel

Cancel Vercel Pro from the team dashboard: open Settings, then Billing, and click Downgrade Plan in the Plan sub-section, after transferring any connected Stores and Domains. It takes about 2 minutes, and the downgrade removes all active members except the original owner while projects stay under Hobby limits. All fees are non-refundable under Vercel's Terms of Service.

Cloud platform that imports your Git repository and deploys web apps with automatic CI/CD, a global CDN and serverless infrastructure.

## Cancel in a web browser

> Vercel Pro is billed per team. Enterprise plans are negotiated contracts and follow the contract's cancellation terms, not this flow.

1. **Transfer connected Stores and Domains first** Vercel's docs state that Pro teams must manually transfer any connected Stores and/or Domains to a new destination before the downgrade flow lets you proceed.
2. **Open your team's dashboard** Select the team in the team switcher on your Vercel dashboard.
3. **Open Settings, then Billing** Settings sits in the sidebar; Billing in the Settings navigation.
4. **Click Downgrade Plan** It sits in the Plan sub-section. When a Pro team downgrades, all active members except the original owner are removed.

> **Warning:** On-demand usage from before the downgrade can still appear on your next invoice - Vercel bills the previous cycle's usage in arrears.

## Cancel a team plan

> Each account may hold only one Hobby team; if you already have one, Vercel requires deleting one team or merging the two.

1. **Make sure you have billing access** Owners manage billing; Members cannot edit billing settings. On Pro, one member can hold the dedicated Billing role.
2. **Downgrade the team, or delete it entirely** Downgrading to Hobby keeps the team's projects. Deleting the team (Settings → General → Delete Team card) cancels the subscription outright.
3. **Before deleting: move resources and save invoices** Transfer projects and domains to your personal Hobby account and download invoices first. Team members, activity and usage data are removed and cannot be transferred.

## Refunds, pausing, downgrades and your data

- **Refunds:** All fees are non-refundable under Vercel's Terms of Service. The one exception: if Vercel terminates your account without cause, self-service subscribers receive the pro-rated unearned portion of prepaid amounts. A paid invoice cannot be recharged to a different payment method, and no refunds are given in those cases.
- **Pausing:** No pause option is documented. The documented ways to stop paying are downgrading the team to Hobby or deleting the team.
- **Downgrading:** Downgrading a Pro team to Hobby removes all active members except the original owner and keeps the team's projects under Hobby limits (200 projects, 100 deployments per day, non-commercial personal use per the fair-use guidelines). Connected Stores and Domains must be transferred out first.
- **Account data:** Vercel's Terms state your content may be permanently deleted upon account termination. When a team is deleted, members, activity and usage data are removed and cannot be transferred; projects and domains can be moved to a personal Hobby account beforehand. The privacy policy publishes no specific retention timelines.

## FAQ

**Will I still be charged for usage after I downgrade?**

Possibly. Each Vercel invoice includes the upcoming cycle's plan charges plus on-demand usage from the previous cycle, so usage incurred before downgrading can appear on a later invoice.

**Can I get a refund for the unused part of the month?**

No. All fees are non-refundable; a pro-rated refund only applies if Vercel itself terminates your account without cause.

**Can I pay for Vercel Pro annually?**

No. Pro supports monthly card payments only; annual billing is Enterprise-only.

**What happens to my team members when I downgrade to Hobby?**

All active members except the original owner are removed from the team.

**I'm on a Pro trial. How do I avoid being charged?**

Trials end after 14 days or when usage limits are exceeded, and charge only if a payment method is on file - without one the team reverts to Hobby automatically. You can also end the trial early with the Downgrade button on the Billing page.

**What if I just stop paying instead of downgrading?**

Overdue accounts are restricted: no new projects, members or redeploys. If a renewal stays unpaid for 14 days, all deployments on the account are paused.
