# How to cancel Synthesia

Cancel Synthesia from the Billing section: click the profile icon, select Account info, open Billing, click the three-dot menu for the active plan and select Cancel your subscription. It takes about a minute and paid features remain until the end of the current billing period. Purchases are generally non-refundable, even if unused, unless the contract says otherwise.

## Cancel in a web browser

1. **Open Account info** Click the profile icon and select Account info.
2. **Open Billing** Select Billing in the account settings.
3. **Open the plan menu** Click the three-dot menu for the active Starter or Creator plan.
4. **Cancel and confirm** Select Cancel your subscription and confirm the cancellation.

> **Warning:** Export videos before the paid period ends because access to Synthesia and all videos is then lost.

## Cancel a team plan

> Enterprise cancellation follows the signed Order Form through the account team.

1. **Contact the account team** Enterprise plans are governed by a signed Order Form, so contact the Synthesia account team to give notice under that agreement.

## Refunds, pausing, downgrades and your data

- **Refunds:** Purchases are non-cancelable and non-refundable, even if unused, except where the contract says otherwise. Synthesia may review a confirmed technical-access problem. Enterprise refund terms follow the Order Form.
- **Pausing:** No subscription-pause option is documented on Synthesia's current pricing, billing-management, cancellation, or refund pages.
- **Downgrading:** In Billing, choose Downgrade for an available lower plan. A downgrade applies at the next billing period and the current features remain available until then. Contact support if no downgrade option appears.
- **Account data:** After cancellation, paid access continues until the end of the current period, then access to Synthesia and all videos is lost, so videos should be exported first. Requested avatar, video, and voice data is permanently removed within 90 days; the same 90-day deletion applies after account termination without a separate deletion request.
