# How to cancel Rollbar

Cancel Rollbar from Account Settings, then Choose Plan, by clicking Cancel subscription near the bottom. It takes about a minute and takes effect at the end of the current billing period. The account is not deleted, and subscription fees are non-refundable.

## Cancel in a web browser

> Terms call the current term non-cancellable and non-refundable. The documented button still stops renewal at the end of the period.

1. **Open Account Settings, then Choose Plan** Sign in on Rollbar.com. You may cancel at any time from Account Settings → Choose Plan.
2. **Click Cancel subscription** Click the Cancel subscription button near the bottom.
3. **Wait until the billing period ends** The change takes effect at the end of the current billing period. The account is not deleted.

## Cancel a team plan

1. **Owners manage the subscription** The built-in Owners team can manage projects, teams, and other account settings, including invoices.
2. **Partner-billed accounts cancel on the partner** Heroku and GitHub Marketplace subscriptions are billed by those partners. Billing docs say you may migrate those accounts to the Rollbar Free plan using the partner-migration steps.

## Refunds, pausing, downgrades and your data

- **Refunds:** Rollbar Terms of Service state that the subscription is non-cancellable and non-refundable, and that Service Subscription Fees are non-refundable. The billing docs still let you cancel self-serve so renewal stops at the end of the current period.
- **Pausing:** No pause or billing-hold option is documented. You can disable on-demand events so new errors stop when the plan limit is reached, which is a usage control, not a subscription pause.
- **Downgrading:** Choosing a lower plan level takes effect at the start of the next monthly billing cycle. After you cancel, the account remains and is not deleted. Free remains available with 5K occurrences and 1K replays per month.
- **Account data:** Free keeps occurrence data 30 days. Paid plans default up to 90 days on Essentials and 180 days on Advanced, and owners can shorten retention to 7-180 days. Data older than the retention period is permanently deleted or redacted. Cancelling the subscription does not delete the account.
