## Cancel in a web browser

> Official site is redis.io. redis.com redirects there. The console is cloud.redis.io.

1. **Sign in as Account Owner** Open the Redis Cloud console at cloud.redis.io. Deleting a database requires the Account Owner role.
2. **Delete every database in the subscription** You cannot delete a subscription until it has zero databases. Essentials: More actions > Delete database. Pro: Configuration tab > Danger zone > Delete. Confirm Delete database. Back up first; deleted databases cannot be recovered.
3. **Open the subscription Overview tab** If you have more than one subscription, select the target subscription, then select Overview.
4. **Click Delete subscription and confirm** Select Delete subscription, then select Delete subscription again. Once deleted, it cannot be recovered. If you are deleting the last database, the dialog also offers Delete my subscription and stop my payment.

> **Warning:** Deleting databases without deleting the subscription does not stop charges.

## Cancel a team plan

1. **Empty subscriptions still bill** You continue to be charged for a subscription until you delete it, even if it has no databases.
2. **Payment-method changes need Owner or Billing Admin** Changing the payment method on an Essentials plan requires the Owner or Billing Admin role.

## Refunds, pausing, downgrades and your data

- **Refunds:** The Redis Cloud Agreement says all payment obligations are non-cancelable and all payments are non-refundable except as expressly stated. Billing docs say generally, charges are non-refundable, and special cases go to Support.
- **Pausing:** No subscription pause is documented. Deleting databases without deleting the subscription does not stop subscription charges.
- **Downgrading:** Essentials plans can be changed with Plan upgrade. Moving to a lower plan fails if the data does not fit the new size. Free 30 MB Essentials can be upgraded to paid without data loss.
- **Account data:** Once a subscription is deleted it cannot be recovered. Deleted databases cannot be recovered. Redis recommends backing up first. After the agreement ends, Redis may delete the entire usage history and data files unless the parties agree otherwise.

## At a glance

- Cancellation fee: None documented
- Refund window: Generally none
- Effective: When the subscription is deleted
- Free plan after: Only if you keep a 30 MB database
