# How to cancel OVHcloud

Cancel OVHcloud Public Cloud in the Control Panel: delete each instance with Delete, or open Project settings and choose Delete project, then confirm the emailed link. Instance deletion takes a few minutes; a project can stay suspended up to 7 days. Deleting a service does not entitle you to a refund.

## Cancel in a web browser

> This guide is Public Cloud, not the separately billed VPS product.

1. **Delete each instance** Open Public Cloud, select the project, open Instances and click Delete. Confirm the popup. Hourly billing runs until the instance is permanently deleted. Delete attached storage, snapshots and backups separately.
2. **Or delete the Public Cloud project** Open Project settings, click Delete project, then click Delete project again. Confirm the email link and enter your password. A project marked for deletion can stay suspended for up to 7 days.
3. **Pay the final invoice** Deleting a project issues a final invoice for the outstanding Public Cloud usage.
4. **Close the customer account only if nothing remains** After every service is gone, invoices are paid, and prepaid credit is cleared, open a Help Centre ticket: Manage your OVHcloud customer account, then I want to close my OVHcloud account.

> **Warning:** Deleting an instance or project permanently removes its data. Deleting a service does not entitle you to a refund.

## Cancel a team plan

1. **Administrative contact** The general subscription-cancel flow requires the administrative contact. You cannot cancel every OVHcloud service in one bulk request.

## Refunds, pausing, downgrades and your data

- **Refunds:** Official deletion docs say deleting an OVHcloud service does not entitle you to a refund. US Terms of Service treat fees as non-cancelable and non-refundable except as required by law or expressly stated. EU consumers have a 14-day cancellation right and pay a pro-rated amount if the service has already started.
- **Pausing:** Shelving (Suspend in the Control Panel) keeps the IP and bills the snapshot instead of an hourly instance if it stays shelved the whole month. Turning an instance off or pausing it does not stop instance charges.
- **Downgrading:** You can change the instance template and switch hourly billing to monthly from Edit. Switching monthly back to hourly requires deleting the monthly instance and creating a new hourly one. There is no free instance plan after the last resource is deleted.
- **Account data:** Deleting an instance permanently deletes the data stored on it. Deleting a project permanently removes its resources. A project marked for deletion can remain suspended for up to 7 days. The GDPR immediate-deletion article also notes that effective deletion of a Public Cloud project may take up to 30 days.
