# How to cancel Optery

Cancel Optery from the Account page: scroll down and click the red Cancel Plan button. 1. **Open Account** Log in to Optery and click Account in the left navigation.
2. **Click Cancel Plan** Scroll to the bottom and click the red Cancel Plan button. Future billing stops, and the paid plan stays active through the current billing term.

## Refunds, pausing, downgrades and your data

- **Refunds:** Cancelling partway through a term does not produce a prorated refund. Individual consumer Removal Services subscriptions have a one-time, 30-day money-back guarantee for the first purchase: cancel first, then email support@optery.com. A processed refund ends paid service immediately and returns the account to Free Basic.
- **Pausing:** Monthly subscriptions can be paused from Account for 12, 24 or 36 weeks. Billing and use stop during the pause and resume after reactivation. Annual subscriptions cannot be paused.
- **Downgrading:** A normally cancelled paid plan stays active until the end of its current monthly or annual term and then automatically becomes Free Basic. Changing to a lower paid tier converts unused value into account credit for a future invoice.
- **Account data:** Cancelling does not delete the account. Under Account, the separate Permanently Delete My Optery Account action permanently deletes the account and associated information after confirmation and cannot be undone.
