# How to cancel Namecheap

Cancel Namecheap shared hosting by opening Hosting List, selecting Manage beside the package and turning off Auto-Renew so it expires, or choose Cancel service for immediate deletion. It takes about three minutes. Immediate cancellation erases hosted data, while expiry first suspends the package and later terminates it.

## Cancel in a web browser

1. **Open Hosting List** Sign in to Namecheap, open Hosting List and choose Manage beside the shared hosting package.
2. **Choose expiry or immediate deletion** Turn off Auto-Renew to let the package expire, or select Cancel service for immediate cancellation.
3. **Confirm immediate cancellation** For immediate cancellation, review the terms, acknowledge them and select Yes, cancel hosting.
4. **Save the email** Namecheap sends an email when an immediate package cancellation is completed.

## Refunds, pausing, downgrades and your data

- **Refunds:** First-time Shared Hosting accounts can qualify for a full refund within 30 days of purchase. Renewals may qualify when cancelled within 48 hours. Add-ons, licenses, domains and other exclusions apply, and Billing/Sales must process the request.
- **Pausing:** Letting hosting expire causes a temporary suspension before termination, but Namecheap does not document a user-selected paid subscription pause.
- **Downgrading:** Namecheap can change Shared Hosting plans through Billing/Sales. Turning off Auto-Renew does not move hosting to a free plan.
- **Account data:** Immediate cancellation erases hosted data. With Auto-Renew off, websites and hosted email are suspended after the billing date and later terminated. The related domain registration remains separate.
