## Cancel in a web browser

> Destroy Server stops that server. Closing the whole account is a separate Support case.

1. **Back up everything first** Termination is permanent. Back up files, databases, email and any other data before you continue.
2. **Open My Servers** Log in at portal.liquidweb.com and click My Servers.
3. **Choose Destroy Server** Find the server, open the three-dot menu, and select Destroy Server.
4. **Pick a reason and review related services** Select a reason. The dialog lists additional services tied to that server that will be cancelled with it.
5. **Click Cancel without assistance** Next offers Request Assistance, which opens a Support case. To destroy the server yourself, click Cancel without assistance.

> **Warning:** Destruction is permanent. The 30-day money-back guarantee is for shared hosting only, not VPS or dedicated.

## Cancel a team plan

> Invoice or committed-term accounts can owe early-termination charges equal to remaining monthly recurring fees.

1. **Close the entire account through Support** Cancelling the Liquid Web account, including leftover services, requires creating a Support case. It is not finished in the Destroy Server dialog.
2. **Read the Terms if you are on a contract** The Terms allow terminating an Order for convenience with 30 days written notice and early-termination charges on remaining term. The tariff also describes written cancellation via a help-desk ticket or email to support@liquidweb.com with proof of ownership.

## Refunds, pausing, downgrades and your data

- **Refunds:** The Terms say services are non-cancellable and fees are non-refundable except where otherwise provided. The tariff refunds full months only, except a 30-day money-back guarantee for shared hosting. Virtual private, dedicated, Storm and colocation plans are excluded from that guarantee. Setup fees are not refundable.
- **Pausing:** No server-pause option is documented. The documented way to stop billing is Destroy Server, which is permanent.
- **Downgrading:** The VPS page says you can scale a VPS up or down from the command line or management dashboard. Promotional discounts do not apply to upgrades of existing VPS servers.
- **Account data:** Destroying a server is permanent and irreversible. Liquid Web says there is no way to recover those files. You are responsible for backups. Closing the entire account is also described as permanent and is processed by Support.

No. Destroying servers is self-serve. Closing the entire account requires a Support case.

Generally no. The Terms say fees are non-refundable. The tariff's 30-day money-back guarantee applies to shared hosting only, not VPS or dedicated.

Early termination charges can equal 100% of remaining monthly recurring charges for flat-rated services, plus supplier costs and unpaid invoices.
