# How to cancel Hetzner Cloud

Stop Hetzner Cloud billing in Hetzner Console: open the project, select Server, open the server, click Delete and confirm. It takes about 2 minutes and is effective immediately, with a pro-rated final invoice. Hetzner bills hourly usage up to the monthly cap and does not document a general refund for deleted cloud servers.

Hetzner Cloud virtual servers managed in Hetzner Console, separate from Robot dedicated servers and konsoleH hosting.

## Cancel in a web browser

> This guide is Hetzner Cloud in Console only, not Robot dedicated servers or konsoleH.

1. **Open Hetzner Console** Go to console.hetzner.com/projects, log in, and select the project that holds the server.
2. **Open the server** Select Server in the menu, then open the cloud server you want to cancel.
3. **Click Delete and confirm** Click Delete and confirm. The resource cannot be restored. You receive a pro-rated final invoice for hourly use up to the monthly cap.
4. **Delete leftover paid resources** Delete snapshots, backups, volumes, floating IPs and other project resources that still accrue charges. Powering a server off does not stop billing.

> **Warning:** Deleted Console resources cannot be recovered. Data deletion is treated as immediate.

## Cancel a team plan

1. **Closing the whole customer account** Hetzner says customers normally cancel products one by one. Full account closure is exceptional: submit a support request, list every product, allow 30 days to the end of the month, pay invoices, then delete the account at accounts.hetzner.com/account/delete if you still have access.

## Refunds, pausing, downgrades and your data

- **Refunds:** Cloud servers are billed after use at the hourly rate up to the monthly cap. No general refund is documented for a deleted cloud server. EU consumers have a 14-day withdrawal right; if the service has already begun, Hetzner invoices the pro-rata amount. Remaining account credit can be refunded through support after invoices are paid.
- **Pausing:** No cloud-server pause is documented. Powered-off servers are billed until deleted. Hetzner suggests taking a snapshot and deleting the server if you will be off for a long time.
- **Downgrading:** You can rescale a cloud server in Console. Rescaling a server on legacy pricing switches it to current pricing. There is no free cloud plan after the last server is deleted.
- **Account data:** After you delete a Console resource, Hetzner cannot restore it and says data is deleted after cancellation, typically immediately. After a customer account is deactivated, Hetzner keeps data 3 years with no product usage or 14 years when invoices exist, then deletes it.

## At a glance

- Cancellation fee: None documented
- Refund window: 14-day EU withdrawal; otherwise none documented
- Effective: Immediate on Delete
- Free plan after: No

## FAQ

**Does the 30-days-to-the-end-of-the-month rule apply to Hetzner Cloud?**

No. That policy does not apply to Hetzner Cloud servers. Deleting a cloud server in Console is effective immediately.

**Do I pay after I delete a Hetzner Cloud server?**

Yes. You receive a final pro-rated invoice for hourly use up to the monthly cap.

**Does shutting down a Hetzner Cloud server stop charges?**

No. Servers that have finished creation are billed until deleted, including powered-off servers.

**How do I close the entire Hetzner account?**

Cancel products one by one first. Full account closure is exceptional and goes through support, then accounts.hetzner.com/account/delete.

**Are Hetzner Cloud prices in USD?**

Product pages are EUR-first, excluding VAT, and IPv4 is extra. This guide does not convert those prices to USD.
