## Cancel in a web browser

> Use this path when Google bills the membership directly.

1. **Open Google One** On your computer, go to one.google.com and sign in with the Google Account that has the membership.
2. **Open Settings and Cancel membership** Click Settings, then Cancel membership.
3. **Confirm** To confirm, click Cancel membership. You should get a confirmation that your subscription is cancelled.

## Cancel on iPhone / iPad

> Use this path when Apple bills the membership.

1. **Open the App Store subscription list** If Apple bills the membership, open the Settings app, tap your name, tap Subscriptions and select Google One.
2. **Cancel the subscription** Tap Cancel Subscription. You might need to scroll down to find it. If there is no Cancel button, or an expiration message shows in red, the subscription is already cancelled.
3. **Or cancel from the Google One app** Open the Google One app, on the left tap Menu, then Membership plans, then Manage plan. Tap Cancel membership, then tap Cancel Subscription on the subscription management page.

> **Warning:** If you signed up through the App Store on an iPhone or iPad and later switched to an Android device, you cannot adjust the membership or change the payment method in the app. Use the App Store on another device.

## Cancel on Android

> Use this path when Google Play bills the membership.

1. **Open Google Play subscriptions** If Google Play bills the membership, go to subscriptions in Google Play and select Google One.
2. **Cancel the subscription** Tap Cancel subscription and follow the instructions.
3. **Or cancel from the Google One app** Open the Google One app, at the top tap Menu, then Settings, then Cancel membership. To confirm, tap Cancel membership.

> **Warning:** Uninstalling the Google One app does not cancel the subscription.

## Refunds, pausing, downgrades and your data

- **Refunds:** In most countries or regions, Google storage plan purchases are non-refundable, and the storage you bought is yours for the length of the subscription even if you cancel. Play Store purchases follow Google Play's refund policies and App Store purchases are refunded by Apple. In the European Economic Area you can withdraw the membership within 14 days of purchase, which ends your benefits immediately, and storage bought on Google Play in the EU or UK can be cancelled within 14 days for a full refund. In Israel you may be able to cancel with immediate effect and request a partial refund prorated over the days left. For a membership billed by a third-party provider, that provider handles any refund.
- **Pausing:** No pause option is documented for Google One. Google's cancellation help offers decreasing your storage instead of cancelling, and Google Play's own help says only some apps let you pause a subscription.
- **Downgrading:** You can move to a smaller plan instead of cancelling: on a computer, go to Google One, click Manage membership, then Change membership plan, and choose a plan under Downgrade options. If there is no downgrade option you are on the lowest plan. The current plan stays active until the end of the billing cycle and the downgrade takes effect at the start of the next one. After cancelling, each person keeps the default storage of up to 15 GB at no charge.
- **Account data:** Cancelling does not delete the Google Account or its content. Storage and benefits normally last until the end of the billing cycle, then the account drops back to the personal storage of up to 15 GB shared by Drive, Gmail and Photos. A membership sponsored by Metro by T-Mobile (US only) ends as soon as you cancel, and a plan billed by another provider may end immediately or run to the end of the cycle depending on that provider. Cancelling also ends access to premium subscriptions included with the plan, such as Google Home Premium, Google Health Premium and YouTube Premium. While you are over quota, Gmail cannot send or receive messages, Drive cannot sync or upload new files and Photos cannot back up photos or videos. Over quota for 2 years or longer, all of your content may be deleted. Deleting the Google Account is a separate action that removes data such as emails, files, calendars and photos.

## At a glance
