## Cancel in a web browser

> The account remains active through the last paid billing period.

1. **Open Profile and Billing** Sign in with a browser and go to Profile > Billing. Paid subscriptions cannot be closed in the mobile app.
2. **Click Cancel plan** Outstanding fees and contact-list overages must be resolved before this option works.
3. **Continue to cancellation** Review the information and click Yes, move on to cancellation.
4. **Confirm the closure** Optionally enter a reason, click Cancel my account and keep the confirmation banner with the closure date.

> **Warning:** Adding an upgrade or add-on during the notice period automatically reverses the scheduled cancellation.

## Refunds, pausing, downgrades and your data

- **Refunds:** GetResponse does not issue refunds, even when cancellation happens immediately after a monthly or annual renewal. Already charged amounts remain payable.
- **Pausing:** Monthly subscribers receive a one-time option during cancellation to freeze the account for 60 days. Annual subscribers are offered two free months or a lower plan instead.
- **Downgrading:** The cancellation flow can offer a lower plan. Other downgrades and annual-to-monthly changes require Customer Success. Paid accounts cannot be downgraded directly to Free.
- **Account data:** The account and content stay available through the paid period. GetResponse terms state that deactivated paid accounts may be restored for 120 days and deactivated free accounts for 30 days.
