# How to cancel Freshdesk

An Account Administrator cancels Freshdesk from Admin > Account > Account Details: click Cancel account, select a reason and request cancellation. It takes about 3 minutes and takes effect after the current term. There is no cancellation fee, but Freshworks says subscription fees are generally non-refundable.

## Cancel in a web browser

> Only an Account Administrator can submit the cancellation request.

1. **Open Account Details** An Account Administrator opens Admin > Account > Account Details.
2. **Click Cancel account** Find the Account Status section and click Cancel account.
3. **Request cancellation** Select a reason and click Request cancellation. Freshdesk follows up on the request, and cancellation takes effect after the current term.

## Cancel a team plan

> Offline-billed accounts use billing or support for subscription changes.

1. **Offline payments: contact Freshdesk** For bank-transfer or other offline billing, contact Freshworks billing or Freshdesk support for changes that are unavailable in Plans and Billing.

## Refunds, pausing, downgrades and your data

- **Refunds:** Freshdesk charges no cancellation fee. Freshworks states that payment obligations are non-cancelable and non-refundable except where its agreement expressly permits otherwise.
- **Pausing:** No subscription pause or hold option is documented in the Freshdesk cancellation, subscription-management, pricing or Freshworks terms pages.
- **Downgrading:** A lower paid plan takes effect after the current billing cycle. Eligible Freshdesk accounts can switch to the six-month Free Program for one or two agents, but some higher-plan configurations are lost.
- **Account data:** Freshdesk permanently deletes the account and its data 14 days after the subscription end date. Export can take up to 10 business days, and support can reactivate the account within 14 days of cancellation.
