# How to cancel Fly.io

Stop Fly.io charges from the dashboard: destroy each app, delete remaining volumes, certificates and organizations, then use Delete Account under Account Settings if you want the account gone. 1. **Delete applications** Destroy each app with the dashboard or the documented fly apps destroy command.
2. **Remove remaining resources** Delete volumes, certificates, extensions and organizations that the account cleanup list identifies.
3. **Open Account Settings** In the Fly.io dashboard, open Account and then Settings.
4. **Choose Delete Account** Complete every listed cleanup task and confirm Delete Account.

## Refunds, pausing, downgrades and your data

- **Refunds:** Fly.io considers refunds case by case for situations such as accidentally created compute or attack-driven bills. Contact billing@fly.io.
- **Pausing:** Stopping a Machine does not stop all charges. Stopped Machines still incur root filesystem storage charges, and attached volumes remain billable.
- **Downgrading:** New customers use pay-as-you-go. Legacy plan customers can move to pay-as-you-go but cannot return to the legacy plan.
- **Account data:** Deleting an application destroys it. Account deletion requires all listed apps, organizations and other resources to be cleaned up first.
