## Cancel in a web browser

> The Destroy project flow cancels that Directus Cloud project's hosting subscription.

1. **Export and back up the project** Destroying a Directus Cloud project permanently removes data, assets, settings and users. Save everything required before continuing.
2. **Open the project settings** In Directus Cloud, select the project and choose Edit.
3. **Destroy the project** Scroll to the bottom, enable the destruction confirmation, enter the project name and confirm. Directus documents this as both project deletion and Cloud subscription cancellation.

> **Warning:** Destruction permanently removes the project and no recovery window is documented.

## Cancel a team plan

1. **Check separate software and Enterprise terms** Destroying a Cloud project cancels that hosting subscription. A separate Team annual commitment or Enterprise agreement can have its own cancellation terms.

## Refunds, pausing, downgrades and your data

- **Refunds:** Directus says accidental or abandoned Cloud projects are not refundable. Destroy the project as soon as hosting is no longer needed.
- **Pausing:** Directus documents no Cloud subscription pause.
- **Downgrading:** Directus Cloud has no free hosted tier. The $0 Core software can be self-hosted, but that requires migrating before destroying the Cloud project.
- **Account data:** Project destruction is permanent and removes all data, assets, settings and users. Directus does not document a recovery window.
