# How to cancel Contentful

Cancel Contentful Lite in Organization settings and subscriptions by opening the space license menu and selecting Cancel subscription. It takes about 2 minutes and remains active through the paid period, then moves to Free. Contentful publishes no standard prorated refund.

## Cancel in a web browser

1. **Open organization subscriptions** Sign in to Contentful, open Organization settings and subscriptions, then select Subscription.
2. **Cancel the Lite space license** Open the actions menu beside the Lite space license and choose Cancel subscription. Deleting a space alone does not cancel its license.
3. **Use the service through the paid period** Recurring billing stops and the organization moves to Free at the end of the current billing period. Contentful sends a confirmation email.

## Cancel a team plan

1. **Premium follows the signed agreement** Premium is a custom sales plan. Contact the account team and follow the cancellation or non-renewal terms in the signed agreement.

## Refunds, pausing, downgrades and your data

- **Refunds:** Contentful does not publish a standard prorated refund for a normal cancellation. The Lite subscription stays available through the current paid period.
- **Pausing:** Contentful documents no subscription pause.
- **Downgrading:** A cancelled Lite subscription moves to Free at the end of the current billing period. The organization must comply with Free plan limits.
- **Account data:** Deleting an account permanently removes its content. Contentful's privacy materials say customer content is deleted within a reasonable period of up to 35 days after a valid post-termination request.
