## Cancel in a web browser

1. **Open Atlassian billing** Go to admin.atlassian.com/billing and select the relevant billing account. Billing admins, organization admins, and site administrators can deactivate the subscription.
2. **Manage the Confluence subscription** Select Subscriptions, find Confluence, and select Manage.
3. **Choose Deactivate** Open more actions, select Deactivate, then review and confirm. The site stays available through the paid period and for 15 additional days before deactivation.

## Cancel a team plan

1. **Use the original billing flow when shown** At my.atlassian.com, expand the Confluence subscription, select Cancel Subscription, and follow the prompts. Organization admins, site admins, and billing contacts can use this flow.
2. **Enterprise customers contact Atlassian** Enterprise cancellation follows a different process. Atlassian directs Enterprise customers to sales-ops-support@atlassian.com for help.

## Refunds, pausing, downgrades and your data

- **Refunds:** An initial monthly cloud purchase is refundable only within the first paid month after the trial. A new annual cloud subscription is refundable within 30 days of the first purchase. Cloud renewals and upgrades are not refundable, and the published policy does not apply to Enterprise subscriptions.
- **Pausing:** No subscription pause option is documented in Atlassian's current cloud billing, plan-change, or deactivation documentation.
- **Downgrading:** Instead of deactivating Confluence, Standard and Premium can be changed to Free for the next billing period when the site has 10 users or fewer. Remaining days are not refunded. In the original billing experience, an annual subscription requires support to move to Free.
- **Account data:** After a paid period ends, the site stays accessible for 15 days before deactivation. Atlassian lists a 60-day retention period for deactivated Free, Standard, Premium, and Enterprise app data. Deleting Confluence from a site deletes Confluence data immediately. Atlassian account deletion is separate.

## At a glance

- Cancellation fee: None for standard self-serve plans
- Refund window: Initial purchase only
- Effective: Site deactivates 15 days after paid period
- Free plan after: Only if you change plan to Free

## FAQ

**Who can cancel Confluence Cloud?**

Billing admins, organization admins, and site administrators can deactivate a subscription in the improved billing experience. The original flow also permits billing contacts.

**Does Confluence stop immediately after cancellation?**

No. The paid period finishes first, and Atlassian keeps the site accessible for 15 additional days before deactivation.

Only qualifying initial purchases: the first paid month for a monthly cloud subscription or the first 30 days of a new annual subscription. Renewals and upgrades are not refundable.

**What happens to Confluence data after deactivation?**

Atlassian lists a 60-day retention period for deactivated paid app data, but deleting Confluence from the site deletes Confluence data immediately.

**Does deleting my Atlassian account cancel Confluence?**

No. Subscription cancellation is separate from Atlassian account deletion.
