## Cancel in a web browser

> Carta documents cancellation through an offboarding form, not a self-serve Cancel button.

1. **Read the current subscription term** Carta subscriptions automatically renew for one-year periods unless either party gives written notice of non-renewal at least 15 days before the then-current term ends.
2. **Complete Carta's offboarding form** Open Carta's official cancel article and complete the offboarding form at least 15 days before renewal. Cancellation is finalized only after that form is submitted.
3. **Work with company administrators and Carta** Carta says it works with company administrators through the transition. The form is required because Carta is a transfer agent and needs specific offboarding details.
4. **Keep confirmation that the form was submitted** Carta warns that failure to submit the form may result in continued charges while the account remains active. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle or subscription term.

> **Warning:** If the offboarding form is not submitted, Carta says charges may continue while the account stays active.

## Cancel a team plan

1. **Use company administrators for offboarding** Carta documents working with company administrators. Individual stakeholder logins do not cancel the company subscription.
2. **Export data before access ends** Thirty days after termination, or if the account is 30 or more days past due, Carta has no obligation to maintain or produce Customer Data.

## Refunds, pausing, downgrades and your data

- **Refunds:** The Master Subscription Agreement says Fees are nonrefundable except as otherwise set forth in that agreement. The Subscription Payment Terms say one-time purchases cannot be canceled or refunded, and you can cancel only future charges. Cancellations become effective at the end of the current billing cycle or specified Subscription Term.
- **Pausing:** No subscription pause option is documented in the cancel article, Master Subscription Agreement or Subscription Payment Terms.
- **Downgrading:** Paid packages are Build, Grow and Scale. Pricing is per stakeholder with a minimum annual fee. Carta Launch is a separate free tier for eligible early-stage companies. The public pages do not document a self-serve downgrade button.
- **Account data:** Thirty days after the effective termination date, or if the account is 30 or more days past due, Carta has no obligation to maintain or produce Customer Data. Export needed records before the subscription ends.
