# How to cancel Brex

Close a Brex card account by moving recurring charges, redeeming points, paying the balance, then contacting Brex Support. It takes about 15 minutes to prepare and cannot be undone. Brex publishes no refund of unused platform fees, and unused points cannot be recovered after closure.

## Cancel in a web browser

1. **Prepare the card account** For a Brex card with monthly payments, migrate recurring charges to another payment method, redeem Brex points, and pay the outstanding balance. Unused points cannot be recovered after closure.
2. **Contact Brex Support to close the card account** Account and card admins send a support request to Brex Support to cancel and close the card account. Closing the account cannot be undone.
3. **Or close a Brex business account in Company Settings** An account admin can open Company Settings, then Banking, Account management. Use Close next to one extra checking account, or Close all accounts to shut checking, treasury, and vault together.

## Cancel a team plan

1. **Only admins close the company account** Account and card admins run closure. Depending on account type, Support must finish the card account.
2. **Pay Order Form fees first** The Platform Agreement lets you ask to terminate by stopping use, paying amounts owed including Order Form fee commitments, and giving notice. Brex may refuse closure if a balance, hold, or pending transaction remains.

## Refunds, pausing, downgrades and your data

- **Refunds:** Brex does not publish a refund of unused Premium or Enterprise software fees. You must pay the outstanding card balance before Support will close a monthly card account. Unused rewards points cannot be recovered after closure. The Platform Agreement says Fee commitments under an Order Form remain due.
- **Pausing:** No pause of a Brex card account or Premium subscription is documented on the account-closure or pricing pages.
- **Downgrading:** No self-serve downgrade from Premium or Enterprise to Essentials is documented on the pricing page. Closing the whole Brex account is the documented offboarding path.
- **Account data:** After closure you can still sign in for read-only access to historic activity and statements. Brex says that access is not revoked. Information that can be deleted is removed. Some information may stay if required by law, contract, or legitimate business functions.
