# How to cancel Bonsai

Cancel Bonsai from the profile menu: open Subscription, select Cancel your subscription and follow the prompts. It takes about two minutes. You can instead pause for one to three months. After cancellation, the account moves to Limited, where existing records remain viewable but paid actions are restricted.

## Cancel in a web browser

1. **Open Subscription** Select the profile icon in the top-left corner, then select Subscription.
2. **Start cancellation** Select Cancel your subscription and follow the prompts.
3. **Choose an outcome** Choose a one-, two- or three-month pause, or continue with cancellation and confirm.

1. **Use the account owner** Open the billing owner's Subscription page to change the plan.

## Refunds, pausing, downgrades and your data

- **Refunds:** Bonsai says cancellation has no penalty. If the latest payment was within 24 hours, contact support because it may be eligible for a refund.
- **Pausing:** Pause the subscription for one, two or three months. Bonsai automatically resumes it after the selected period.
- **Downgrading:** After cancellation the account moves to the Limited free plan, which restricts creating or editing paid-plan items.
- **Account data:** Existing projects, clients and documents remain viewable on Limited. Deleting the account is a separate action.
