# How to cancel Basin

Cancel or downgrade Basin from Account Settings > Billing Settings > Change Plan. It takes about a minute and a downgrade takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle. Basin bills in advance and does not refund or credit unused monthly or yearly time.

## Cancel in a web browser

1. **Open Billing Settings** Sign in, open Account Settings and select Billing Settings.
2. **Choose Change Plan** Open Change Plan from the billing controls.
3. **Downgrade or cancel** Select the free plan or cancellation option and confirm. A downgrade takes effect at the end of the billing cycle.

## Refunds, pausing, downgrades and your data

- **Refunds:** Basin bills monthly or yearly in advance and states that charges are non-refundable, with no credits for unused time or downgrades.
- **Pausing:** No subscription pause option is documented in Basin's pricing, account documentation, FAQ or terms.
- **Downgrading:** A downgrade takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle and may reduce content, features or capacity.
- **Account data:** Deleting the account permanently removes projects, forms and submissions and cannot be undone. Export needed data first.
