## Cancel in a web browser

1. **Open the Appwrite organization** Sign in to Appwrite Console and select the organization that owns the paid Cloud plan.
2. **Open Billing** Open the organization's Billing tab, where Appwrite shows the current billing period and plan controls.
3. **Click Change plan and select Free** Choose Change plan, select Free and complete the confirmation prompts. Paid limits remain until the end of the current billing period.

## Refunds, pausing, downgrades and your data

- **Refunds:** Cloud purchases are non-refundable by default. A first-time Cloud user may request a refund within 14 days when the service critically fails expectations and there has not been significant usage. Appwrite decides eligibility case by case; submit the request through a Console support ticket.
- **Pausing:** No Cloud subscription pause option is documented on Appwrite's pricing, Billing, plan-change, terms or refund pages.
- **Downgrading:** A switch from Pro or Scale to Free keeps paid limits until the end of the current billing period. Then Free limits apply. Excess databases are disabled oldest first and other over-limit resources are disabled, not documented as deleted. All organization admins except the creator are removed if multiple members exist.
- **Account data:** Changing to Free disables resources above Free limits rather than documenting their deletion. Subscription cancellation and account deletion are separate. Appwrite does not publish a post-cancellation retention period, so export important data before any later account or project deletion.
