# How to cancel Appsmith

As the organization owner, open Billing, click Visit Stripe dashboard, then Cancel subscription and confirm. It takes about 3 minutes and stops Stripe billing; Appsmith does not publish whether unused days in the current period are refunded. Order-form payments are nonrefundable.

## Cancel in a web browser

> Business Cloud cancel is Billing, Visit Stripe dashboard, Cancel subscription. Self-hosted uses customer.appsmith.com.

1. **Open Billing as the organization owner** For Business Cloud, log in at login.appsmith.com with the organization workspace. Click the gear icon in the top-right corner and choose Billing. You must be the organization owner.
2. **Click Visit Stripe dashboard** Appsmith documents this control on the Billing menu.
3. **Select Cancel subscription and confirm** In Stripe, select Cancel subscription, then confirm. Appsmith says canceling the subscription stops billing through Stripe.

> **Warning:** Removing a license key downgrades an instance to Free and does not cancel Stripe billing.

## Cancel a team plan

1. **Self-hosted: cancel from the customer portal** Log in to customer.appsmith.com, open the Billing menu, click Visit Stripe dashboard, then Cancel subscription and confirm.
2. **Removing a license key does not cancel Stripe** Admin Settings, License & Plans, Remove, then Confirm downgrades that instance to Free. You must still cancel the Stripe subscription if you want billing to stop.
3. **Order-form agreements use 60-day non-renewal** The Appsmith Subscription Agreement renews for successive one-year terms unless a party gives at least 60 days' notice of non-renewal before the term ends. That notice rule belongs to the signed Order Form path, not the Stripe Cancel subscription control.

## Refunds, pausing, downgrades and your data

- **Refunds:** The Appsmith Subscription Agreement says payments are nonrefundable. The Stripe cancel docs describe stopping Stripe billing and do not publish a refund of unused days. A warranty remedy may refund a portion of fees associated with defective Platform or Services; that is not a cooling-off refund for ordinary cancel.
- **Pausing:** No subscription pause option is documented. Cancel Stripe to stop billing, or remove a license key to put an instance on Free while Stripe may still bill.
- **Downgrading:** Canceling Stripe stops paid billing. Removing a license key downgrades that instance to Free and does not cancel Stripe. Downgrade loses paid features listed on the cancel page, including SSO, SCIM, granular access control, extra Git repos, branding and audit logs. Returning to a similar paid plan restores previous settings except SCIM, which you must reconfigure. Free Cloud remains $0 for up to 5 users.
- **Account data:** Cancelling Stripe billing does not by itself delete your Appsmith instance or apps. Removing a license key keeps the instance on Free with the paid-feature loss documented on the cancel page. The privacy policy says Personal Data for a contract is retained until the contract is fully performed, then deleted when the retention period expires, and that you may request deletion of personal information subject to legal exceptions.
